From the Mayor
The Bottoms Administration has worked hard to ensure that our officers are trained, equipped, and paid commensurate with the challenges they face and their unwavering dedication. The City of Atlanta is doing its part to ensure equity is immersed in all of our decisions. We are forging a new day in Atlanta, where our police officers can live and thrive in the communities they serve; and where we can collectively evaluate the way our justice system works.
You often hear me say I draw circles, not lines. From my time as an engineering student to a nonprofit leader, city council person, and now your 61st Mayor, I’ve carried this mantra with me. These words reflect my core principles of servant leadership – Atlanta is a group project, and, together, we can move Atlanta forward, for all Atlantans.
Because this is what I believe – by joining together right now; by strengthening our partnerships and aligning our missions; by working together in a spirit of innovation and service; by focusing on transforming our most disinvested places; and by centering equity and the voices of our residents, we will make Atlanta the best city in the country to raise a child.
This is my North Star, and to get there, we need every one of you to join us. Since I took office, we’ve worked together across philanthropic, private, and nonprofit sectors to begin this work – together, we’ve improved safety in our communities, turbocharged the development and preservation of affordable housing, and expanded opportunity for thousands of Atlanta youth. I thank you for all you’ve done during the past two years!
To reach our goals, though, there is still much work to do – and business as usual will no longer suffice. Atlanta will be the best place to raise a child when we ensure that every neighborhood has the key building blocks of a thriving community – from housing to childcare, to transit and greenspace, and healthcare, employment opportunities, and more.
We must reimagine the ways in which we work together, including the ways we approach our strategic partnerships. I have redesigned my administration to ensure you get the strategic insight, expertise, and engagement you need to build impactful partnerships with the City, and I am proud to have appointed my first Senior Advisor for Strategic Partnerships and Strategic Initiatives, who leads these efforts. Together, we are building a platform for collective action that’s truly unprecedented in our city.
Welcome to our administration’s online home for strategic partners, a key building block of these efforts! It is my hope that you will use this website to learn more about my goals, our current initiatives, and how we may be able to partner to advance quality of life and economic vitality across the City.
Whether you are a long-time City of Atlanta partner or are just beginning to think about the possibilities of partnering with us, I invite you to join us in the great Atlanta group project! Complete the Partner Interest Form today to start the conversation. Together, we will move Atlanta forward.
